Reconcile

Introduction

This document provides information regarding interfaces from VC4-IMS to Network Management Systems (NMS), Element Management Systems (EMS) and directly to the Network Elements (NEs)/Equipment. For the sake of brevity, we will use the term Network to reference NMS, EMS, and NE.

If the IMS Reconcile feature is implemented, it is a background process set up by VC4 and runs automatically on a regular predetermined basis. Typically once every 24 hours.

The IMS Reconcile process is automatically run in the background, it is not an action that an end user has to be involved in. As stated above, this is typically run once every 24 hours and at night or when the network is at its quietest.

Once the automatic Reconcile run has finished, the results are displayed in the Reconcile form. It is at this point where a knowledgeable end user will determine what data is to be modified in the IMS database with the help of presets and configurations that are explained in this Help Guide, further on.
