Speeds & Layering

All circuit speeds/types can be modeled on IMS.  

Examples:

-64k, 128k, 512k, etc

-2Mb/VC12/E1

-1.5Mb/VC11/T1

-34Mb/VC3/E3

-45MB/VC3/T3

-STM1, STM4, STM16, STM64

-VC4, VC4-4C, VC4-16C, VC4-64C, VCgroup

-OC3,OC12, OC48, OC192

-STS1, STS3, STS12, STS48, STS192

-10Mb, 100Mb, 1Gb, etc

-2.5Gb, 10Gb, 100Gb, 400Gb, 480Gb, etc

-WDM bands, ODU1, ODU2, etc

-PVC, VCC, VPC

-VPN, VLAN

-Service Tunnels, Pseudowires, CVLAN, SVLAN

-Radio/Microwave/RF

-Mesh Tunnels, Mesh Protection tunnels

The speeds & layering menu can be found on the circuit menu button:

To select or search for a speed you can use the search box:

After selecting a speed the following screen opens:

On the left the details :

The top half of the screen contains the details and configuration of the speed:

this section contains the following fields:

 

Name:

name of the speed

SubchannelFrom:

first channel for sub-circuits

SubchannelTo:

last channel for sub-circuits

Speedtype:

type of speed (dropdown list)

Channelview:

how to view the channels (dropdown list)

SpeedColorValue:

the color of the speed in the network map

Kbits:

number of kilobits

LayoutType:

type of layout (dropdown list)

E2E check

check for end-to-end connection

DefaultserviceParts:

technology dor creating new circuits

DefaultProduct:

product code when creating new circuits

DefaultCustomer:

customer when creating new circuits

DefaultVendor:

vendor when creating new circuits

CircuitNameTemplate:

template for naming convention for this circuit type

ExtraInfo:

free text

DrawSubCircuit:

for circuit path to draw the sub-circuit instead of the circuit

UseSubCapacity:

to use the capacity of the sub-circuit for capacity planning

AEndMandatory:

mandatory startpoint of the circuit

ZEndMandatory:

mandatory endpoint of the circuit

Multipoint

circuit is multipoint connection

Wizardusable:

not yet used in IMS

Optical:

circuit is optical

Test:

circuit must be tested before putting in status In Service

IsGeo:

circuit is a geographical connection

ShowVlanID

shows Vlan ID field when creating Vlan circuits

GraphicalX:

number to indicate number of channels in graphic view on X-axis

GraphicalY:

number to indicate number of channels in graphic view on Y-axis

speed of the circuits that can transport (carry) this connection

speed of the circuits that can be transported (carried) by this connection

Channel Type

type of channel

the amount of available channels

StartChannels

whether duplicate channels are allowed

AllowChannelZero

whether channel 0 may be used (utilized)

AllowLessChannels

whether less channels (capacity) may be used

MaxCarriers

limit the number of carriers

AllowScatteredChannels

whether the channels need to be sequential or not

whether protection is allowed
