Planned Works Button Bar  

The following is a brief description of all the features available for the Planned Works module and contained in the Planned Works button bar

PwCategory

Lists all the existing impact category instances

PlannedWork

Lists all the existing Planned Work instances

Put plannedwork in focus


Ensures that the selected Planned Work instance is in focus for related activities and changes

Calculate sub circuits

Refresh

Refreshes the list of circuits calculated for the object/s in the Planned Work

Add new

In the course of time, new sub-circuits might have been added to the network that might be related to this Planned Work, if so, then the Add new option will pull these new sub-circuits into the Planned Work for inclusion in the Impact Analysis

Run impact analysis


For every related circuit and connection, IMS will determine what  impact the planned work will have. IMS will calculate which services will be down and which ones will be protected through protection switching mechanisms, suffering little or no impact at all.  

Add objects


Objects which can be added to a Planned Work and taken into account for impact analysis: Equipment, Card, Connection, Fiber/Copper cable, Duct/Span, Leased Line, Location

Objects and Circuits

Set all maincircuits to down

All circuits listed in the lower Impacted Circuits and Services pane under the Main circuits tab, will be set to Down Type status of Down

Set all maincircuits to Prot. switch

All circuits listed in the lower Impacted Circuits and Services pane under the Main circuits tab, will be set to Down Type status of ProtectionSwitch

Remove all plannedwork main circuits

All circuits listed in the lower Impacted Circuits and Services pane under the Main circuits tab, will be removed from the Planned Work instance

Options: Yes / No

Remove all plannedwork sub circuits

All circuits listed in the lower Impacted Circuits and Services pane under the Impact per group tab, will be removed from the Planned Work instance

Options: Yes / No

Open inform customers


Opens the Inform customers form - a feature that allows for sending out emails to customers regarding Planned Work activity

Add logging


A feature that enables end users of IMS to add free form text regarding their activities or findings relating to the opened Planned Work - logs can be added any time.

Add actiongroup


A user defined object that can be used to associate a specified Planned Work's circuits to a group of users or community - it is an informational only field and can be used, say, to filter connections and circuits i.e., by MPLS Action Group

Create new


Creates a new Planned Work instance

Delete


Deletes the currently opened Planned Work

Close Form


Close the Planned Work feature all together
